Your check in details (directions, door code, etc.) will be sent to you one week prior to your stay, or at the time of booking if your stay is less than a week away.
For bookings made directly with us, on outportvacationrentals.ca, or VRBO/Expedia/HomeAway, a payment of 50% is required at the time of booking. The remaining 50% is due before the cancellation period passes and will be automatically charged to your payment method on file.
Please refer to each individual listing to determine which cancellation policy applies.
Some of our properties require a damage deposit ($250-$500). This is noted on the booking sites and reiterated in your confirmation email. The deposit is an Authorization Hold of funds put on your card to secure the funds to make sure there is space on the card should we need to charge for damages. This is done a couple days before your check-in date and then automatically released within a few days after you checkout as long as there’s no damage or broken rules. The release will not show up as a “refund” the initial hold will simply disappear from your credit card statement as it was never a charge, only a hold.
Amenities vary across our properties, but in all cases the basic amenities are there to ensure a stay comfortable. We provide paper towel, toilet paper, dishes, cooking utensils, to some added staples such as olive oil, salt, pepper, coffee, coffee filters (if needed), Orange Pekoe tea, sugar/sweetener packets, creamers, pots and pans, and a hair dryer. You’ll also find all the linens needed for your stay such as dish towels, bedding, bath towels and face cloths. And we provide hand soap, body wash and shampoo and conditioner.
Twillingate Islands is a 5 hour drive from St. John's, and a 5 hour drive from Gros Morne National Park. And most defintely worth the trip:)
There is lots to do in the Twillingate area! Whether your looking for coastal hiking, locally brewed beer, berry picking, boat tours, icebergs and whales (no guantees, but they don't call us the Iceberg Capital for nothing;), musuems, restaurants/pubs, live music, and the list goes on, you'll find it in Twillingate.
Here are a few great resources that will help you plan your stay.
The following House Rules apply to all of Outport's properties:
1. We expect to find the home in the same condition you found it - without damage, without missing items, and without the excessive mess. Also, without furniture moved. If you must move furniture, please move it back before you leave, as we often have staff cleaning a property alone and therefore cannot safely move the furniture back. Plus this is a common courtesy since you’re staying in our home.
2. Under no circumstances will parties or events be hosted in the home; violation of this rule can result in your full damage deposit not being returned and/or even immediate removal without a refund. We encourage you to gather with friends and family to play games, laugh, etc., but please be mindful of the associated house rules.
3. The occupancy limit noted on our listing is not to be exceeded whether it’s visitors or guests staying the night.
4. Absolutely no smoking of cigarettes, cannabis or use of hookahs at the property. If you choose to use a vape, please do so outside the home.
5. To reduce wear and tear or serious damage, we request footwear is removed while in the home.
6. Abide by your check out time; please ensure you are checked out at that time, as our cleaners will arrive promptly. If you disrespect this rule, it can impact our staff and the incoming guest; you may be charged $50 for the ramifications of your actions.
7. Upon checkout, please ensure all windows and doors are closed and locked. Our housekeeping team will take care of the rest!
8. If you decide not to follow any house rules and a future guest's stay is impacted, you are responsible for covering any costs incurred by the host.
